The game between Toronto and the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night was suspended by rain with the Blue Jays leading 2-1 in the sixth inning. Play will resume Thursday afternoon with two outs in the top of the sixth.

The teams will then play the finale of the four-game series.

Toronto went up 2-1 in the sixth, moments before a thundershower stopped play. Alex Rios led off with a single, stole second and scored on a single by Lyle Overbay. Orioles starter Jeremy Guthrie then got two outs before the rain came.

After a delay of more than 1 1/2 hours, the game was suspended.

A.J. Burnett allowed one run and six hits in five innings for Toronto. He struck out seven and walked none.

Unbeaten in six starts since June 12, Guthrie also gave up six hits.

Both teams wore 1983 throwback uniforms to coincide with a pregame ceremony to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Baltimore's last World Series champion. The Blue Jays pulled out their vintage power blue uniforms, and several of the Orioles hiked their pants up to the knees to expose retro style orange stirrups.

Toronto broke on top in the third when Adam Lind singled, stole second, took third on a single by John McDonald and scored on a groundout by Marco Scutaro.

After stranding a runner at second base in the first and second innings, Baltimore pulled even in the fourth. Aubrey Huff tripled to left-center and came home on an infield hit by Melvin Mora.

Burnett gave up a double to Brian Roberts in the fifth but struck out the side.

Notes:@ Former Orioles in attendance for the pregame ceremony included Hall of Famers Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken Jr. and Jim Palmer. ... Huff came in 5-for-43 (.116) lifetime against Burnett, then went 2-for-2 against the right-hander.
