A doctor charged with molesting eight patients was ordered held on $4 million bail Wednesday as a prosecutor said accusations from seven more patients had surfaced.

Police have interviewed three of the new accusers and four others have come forward in recent days, Deputy District Attorney Ann Marie Wise said in court.

Wise said the high bail was requested because Dr. Kevin Antario Brown, 37, is considered a flight risk. His father is Bermuda Premier Ewart Brown.

Superior Court Commissioner Henry Hall postponed Brown's arraignment to Aug. 7.

A telephone message seeking comment was left for one of Brown's attorneys, Keith Bowman.

Brown was arrested July 8 and was initially charged with sexually molesting a female patient and a female undercover police officer who posed as a patient.

After six more alleged victims came forward, Brown was additionally charged with 19 more felony counts, including a lewd act on a 15-year-old child, rape, sexual battery by fraud and sexual exploitation.

The existing cases will eventually be consolidated. If convicted, Brown would face up to 27 years in state prison, the district attorney's office said.

Brown practices medicine at Crenshaw Expo Medical Center.
